Claire Cowan's "wood : strings : hammers : flesh," with its flamenco nuances, speaks in whispers of intimacy and revelation. John Psathas' piano trios "Corybas" and "Aegean" interlace Greek mythological and natural beauty with the nuances of New Zealand's culture. The evening culminates with Anthony Ritchie’s Viola Sonata, a piece that seamlessly blends the structured grace of classical roots with the resonant tones of folk traditions.
